Rural Missouri Biennial Report released
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, Office of Primary Care and Rural Health, has released the 2015 Biennial Report. The report highlights significant progress in the improvement of the health of rural Missourians over the past 10 years; however, significant inequalities between rural and urban Missourians remain.
Rural Missourians as a whole display a lower level of income, education, healthy behaviors and access to health care services, which in turn lead to decreases in health status and life expectancy. The report highlights the differences between rural and urban Missourians.
The Office Of Primary Care and Rural Health continues to recommend a holistic approach to improving and equalizing health in Missouri which addresses socioeconomic factors, health behaviors and access to health care services.
