Missouri Hospital Boards Support Rural Health
Resolutions adopted by hospital governing boards representing more than 40 hospitals from throughout rural Missouri were delivered to Gov. Parson and members of the Missouri General Assembly this week. The resolutions support state investments and policy innovations to Reimagine Rural Health, and commend the governor for leadership in promoting workforce development, rural infrastructure improvements, and expanded broadband — among other investments. These policies would improve access to health care for rural Missourians and currently are moving through the Missouri General Assembly.
Hospital boards are composed of volunteer leaders who give their time and
expertise to keep health care strong and locally available in their
communities. They understand having a strong health care system improves
individual, community and economic health.
The resolutions underscore the importance of ongoing partnerships between hospitals and policymakers. They recognize that better care and better value are possible if we work together to #ReimagineRuralHealth.
