We’ve Been Invited to the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine!
HealthTran founders and Community Asset Builders’ principals, Doris Boeckman and Suzanne Alewine, have been invited to participate on a panel at The National Academies of Sciences, “Exploring Data and Metrics of Value at the Intersection of Health Care and Transportation” workshop, to be held in Washington, DC June 6-7, 2016. The workshop objectives are to showcase models of transportation services that facilitate individuals’ access to health care providers, discuss data sources, information technology obstacles and solutions from (and across) the health care transportation perspectives, and to explore opportunities to ascertain the value of transportation services to improving health outcomes (e.g., through performance metrics to transportation providers, health system and payers. HealthTran and Missouri’s Rides to Wellness efforts will be showcased as part of Panel II: Examples of cross-sector collaboration to provide transportation services to vulnerable individuals in rural/small urban/suburban settings.

Doris Boeckman is the former Executive Director for the Missouri Public Transit Association (2006-2015) and Suzanne Alewine presently serves as Executive Director of the Missouri Rural Health Association. HealthTran was a joint collaboration between the associations in 2013 and funded by the Missouri Foundation for Health as a three-year pilot demonstration.
